Capt. Mike Vinik was raised by a teacher who was raised by a teacher. Education is in his blood. His first job was teaching kids how to sail, and he has never stopped teaching. He has been a guest lecturer at SUNY Maritime and is, at his core, a giant tugboat nerd. Given any opening, he will happily tell you anything you want to know about tugboat operations. Joining Vinik Marine at any level puts you directly under his tutelage. He can help guide you from deckhand to captain, while teaching you how to rebuild a train (tugboat) engine. The knowledge Mike passes along to his crew is a highly valuable part of our benefits package.
