History
The Capt. Chuck, a Point Class Cutter, was built by J.M. Martinac Shipbuilding Corp in Tacoma, Washington, in 1967. She served the USCG out of Little Creek, Virginia from 1967 - 1988, executing critical law enforcement and search and rescue operations. She was later restationed in North Carolina from 1988 until she was decommissioned in 1991.
Following her military service, the Point Brown was recommissioned as the Lady B and relocated to New York City, where she served faithfully with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary until 2022.
Vinik Marine acquired the vessel in 2024 and christened her the Capt. Chuck in honor of venerable Vinik Marine Captain Chuck GraBois. She now remains in active service as a specialized marine industrial vessel.
